Best Practices when Using FlexyTime Time Tracking

Setting the right expectations: After you start using FlexyTime, you will realize you and your team is not as productive as you think 😊 The human mind is set to expect the ideal conditions. In FlexyTime’s case, that would be seeing all green bars and 90%+ productivity scores. But in real life, an average white-collar works 2,5-3 hours effectively daily. The rest of the shift is generally spent on meetings and leisure, non-work-related activities.

Increasing Productivity: Now you have one of the best tools to increase your productivity. Let’s see what you can do with that:

- First step to take is to be sure everyone is starting and ending the work at the expected times.

- To increase productivity, the first thing to do is to decrease the meeting times. Log into FlexyTime, choose the whole organization, and select last month. See how much you are investing in meetings. Pay particular attention to the team members’ meeting times who are not managers. Meeting times are often translated into productivity loss if a team member is not a manager or director.

- After creating a discipline about meeting times, focus on working times (productive times) instead of leisure times! It is counterintuitive, but that is where the real gems are. Using Excel and Google Sheets may look productive, but question yourself this: Can any of this work be automated?

- Human mind cannot focus on one thing for hours. We all need breaks. But it is crucial to check how much we entertain ourselves. But this is the last checkmark in increasing your team’s productivity journey. Most of the time, it is best to let your team members see their scores. A mirror may tell more than you can explain.

Respecting Privacy:

FlexyTime is a productivity tool, not a bossware. We are not here to spy on anyone. That is why:

• FlexyTime does NOT take screenshots

• FlexyTime does NOT take webcam shots

• FlexyTime does NOT record what you write

• FlexyTime does NOT report the whole URL of visited websites

FlexyTime believes one of the most essential values in a workplace is for people to trust each other. Therefore we respect the privacy of your employees. We highly advise you to do the same.
